Abstract:In order to study the compatibility of fire extinguishing agent and elastic sealing material,the full immersion and repeated immersion experiments of three common sealing rubber materials in aircraft fixed fire extinguishing system,including silicone rubber (SI),fluorosilicone rubber (FKM) and fluorosilicone rubber (FVQM),in two new high boiling point fire extinguishing agents of 2-bromo-3,3,3 trifluoropropene (2-BTP) and perfluorohexanone (Novec 1230) were carried out.The basic physical parameters and surface microtopography of rubbers after the experiments were tested and analyzed.The results showed that in the whole immersion experiments,SI and FVQM had better compatibility with 2-BTP,and SI,FKM,FVQM had better compatibility with Novec 1230,which could be used as the static sealing materials.After the repeated immersion experiments,SI and FVQM had less change in performance and could be used as dynamic sealing materials.The mechanical performance of Si,FKM and FVQM reduced greatly in 2-BTP,which were not recommended as dynamic sealing materials for 2-BTP fire extinguishing system.
